FIRST READING'S,
The House met at 2.30 p.m
The following bills were introduced and read a first time: —Definition of Time (iMr Sidey), Registration of Business Names (tMr Brown), Payment of Jurors ('Mr Wilford), Shops and Offices -Amendment (Mr Holland . TREATY APPROVAL. Mr Massey moved that the House approve the ratification of the Peace Treaty with Germany, us approved by the plenipotentiaries at the recent Peace Conference. The afternoon sitting was occupied by the Premier's speech explaining , the Treaty. Discussion was continued at the evening sitting, when Sir J. G. Ward, Mr E. Newman, and Mr T. Wilford supported the ratification of the Treaty and the League of Nations ' Messrs Holland and P. Fraser adversely criticised both motions, which were put and carried on the voices. The House rose at 11.15 p.m.— Press Assn.
