EXTENSION OF BOARDING SCHOOL.
At yesterday's meeting of the High School Board, Mr Carruth, the chairman, considered that the board should make an effort to extend the boards ing establishment. The architect had advised him that it would be possible to add to the prese-nt building, and the estimate for putting up twenty extra rooms and extending the din-ing-room would ibe about £1000. The equipment would cost another £200 on top of this. Then again, a point that had not been considered in th«se estimates was an extension of the cooking appliances. He moved that a sub-committee consisting of Messr3 Weaver, Crawford and the mover be appointed to confer with the archir tect re the necessary extensions, and that the determinations of the subcommittee be sent on in the form of a'request for a grant for inclusion in the supplementary estimates. Thi<£ was seconded by Mr Rishworth and carried. 1
