ABOUT THE BOARD.
"The Fire Board" was a toast brought forward by Supt. Chissell, who contended that the brigade \conditions were infinitely superior to those of the pre-war days, and the equipment efficient, but regarding the night conditions at the station, he certainly thought that the radiator should have been granted—it was

If some of the board members had to put in a week at the station, which was like "a hut on stilts," they would assent to the purchase of all the radiators in the town. All the requests he had put to the board had been reasonable, and he was sure the board members would take the needs to heart. He believed they had a. good friend in the present chairman. No one was more anxious than he to see the reform accomplished.
