Mr Thornton, of the Auckland "Star" staff, was a passenger to the city by the Manaia this morning.

Mr F. Mander, M.P., for Marsden, who has been attending to district matters in connection with the Ministerial visit to Whangarei, left for Auckland to-day.

Mrs R. Tabemer. accompanied by a niece, returned to Auckland per s.s. Manaia to-day, after spending a very enjoyable holiday in Whangarei with her mother and sister.

Sergt.-Major Edmonds, who has been upon a brief visit to old friends in Whangarei, left for Auckland this morning from which place he is due to report to headquarters.

Sir William Fraser and his private secretary, Mr McAllister, left Whangarei this morning for Auckland. Th e Minister will proceed to Wellington on Sunday evening.
