CRIES OF LAMENTATION,
A FOODLESS CRISIS.
(United Service.) (Press Assn. —Reed. 11.10 p.m.) : LAUSANNE, December 14. • The Austria-Hungary economic situation is critical. . There are cries of distress and misery from the Czechs lands. The newspapers are full of letters from tjie wounded begging even for a few potatoes. Lamentations are heard in Bohemia, where there are three meatless days weekly. The meals in some restaurants cost five times the ante-war price, and the sale of tobacco is prohibited in restaurants and cafes.
