(By Telegraph.—Press Association). WANGfANUI, November 30. Advice has been received by Air Strachan, of Waveiiey, that his son, Corporal Douglas Harper Strachan, of the Wellington Mounted Rifles, who went away with the main body, and is now serving in Egypt, has had the Military Medal conferred upon him for distinguished conduct in the battle of Romani. Corporal Strachan was mentioned in despatches for gallantry on the Gallipoli peninsula, as also was. his brother, Trooper Laurie Strachan. Of the three other sons in (lie family one has volunteered for service and a fourth has been drawn in the first ballot.
