LYCEUM.
There was a good attendance at the Lyceum on Saturday evening to witness the fine play "Th e Evil Eye" and the capital programme submitted. Unfortunately a field wire of the dynamo gave out, causing a seven minutes' stop; this was at once rectified and the pictures proceeded with. This is the first stop in four years the company have had, and was quite unavoidable. Mr de Tourret had only that morning inspected the wiring but the defective part being covered with insulation it was not noticed. AH went as usual as soon as repaired. Tomorrow night a very fine star picture "Th e Middleman" will be screened and illustrated booklets are available. Sc.its may be reserved without extracharge to any part of the house. "The Middleman" is a charming story, vividly portrayed and beautifully acted by the best London artists, the lead being taken by Albert Chevalier and Miss Minnie Grey.
