After further corroborative evidence at the Rua trial Rua pleaded "not guilty" and reserved his defence.
iMr Lundon, for the defence, applied for a trial at Hamilton on the grounds of convenience and expense. Mr Mays opposed the application and the magistrate committed the accused for trial at the next sittings of the Supreme Court at Auckland.
