GERMANS CLAIM GREAT PROGRESS.

The Russians were repulsed at sev eral points at Courland.
I We captured enemy positions north |of the confluence of the rivers Skroda and Pissa. We reached Narew'northwards of the mouth of the Szkwa and occupied some permanent fortifications at Ostralenka on the north-west bank. Our troops south of the Vistula advanced as far as Blonie and Grodziska. ' '.'■'.■' In rearguard actions the Russians lost ;"G0 prisoners and two machine guns. '."."- In the south-eastern theatre all the Russian counter-attacks were -repulsed. We took prisoners 5000. Our troops closely pursued the enemy and bur cavalry ran them down at the Ivangorod railway. . . v.
