APPEAL TO THE FULL COURT.

WELLINGTON, July 20.
Argument began before a Full Court to-day in the appeal cases Alex. Penman v. Bennie, Inspector of Mines. The appeals are against convictions by the magistrate of appellant, who is mine manager for the Taupiri Collieries, Ltd, and Ralph's Mine, Huntly, for (-1) failure to cause all the parts of the mine to be examined daily and (2) failure to see that the working of the mine was carried on with all reasonable provision for safety of the men employed. The case takes the
'orm of a re-hearing,
Mr Salmond, solicitor-general, and Mr Gillies appear for the inspector, and Mr P. C. Skerrett, K.C., and Mr Tonks for the appellant.
