OBITUARY.

MISS FLORA I. HAWKEN. Doc;) sympathy has oeen aroused among a large circle of friends and acquaintances by the death of Miss Flora Ir.cz Hawken, of Maunu. The deceased young lady, for she was but in her 23rd year, was taken suddenly iil about Friday last. Her removal to the Whangai-ei hospital became necessary, but despite every skilled attention hor death took place at 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon. Miss Hawken was the sixth daughter of the late Mr Harding Hawken, and of Mrs P. Fallon, of Maunu. She was popular among a large number of friends and her death, coming so quickly, has caused a deep shook* among them. The funeral will take place on Thursday, when the cortege will leave Mrs Fallon's home at 2 p.m. for Maunu cemetery. The Rev. G. C. Cruickshank will conduct the funeral service, and it is the wish of the relatives that mourning shall not be worn.
