NOT IN SUEZ FIGHT

Interesting details of the operations of the cruiser Philomel since the outbreak of hostilities are contained in a diary posted to an Auckland resident by one of those aboard tho vessel.
The diary shows incidentally that the vessel did not take part in the Suez Canal engagement but she encountered the Turks near Alexandret-
ta. Since leaving New Zealand the vessel has covered a course of about 30,000 miles.
