MAYORAL INSTALLATION.
Mr Donald William Jack was installed as Mayor of the Whangarei Borough this morning, at the Town Hall.r There were present: Councillors J. S. Dent (Deputy Mayor), F. Cutforth, R. Harrison, J. E. Holmes, L. P. Pickmere, and D. A. McLean; also about fifteen citizens. After the Town Clerk had read the Returning Officer's report of the election, the ,Deputy-Mayor called upon Mr Jack to make and sign the usual declaration. This Mr Jack did, and after a few congratulatory remarks Mr Dent duly installed him in the Mayoral chair. Mr Hy. Weaver also briefly congratulating the new Mayor, and wished him a happy term of office. Mr Jack suitably responded.
