AN OLD MAN'S ROMANCE WITH
A MAID
LONDON, Oct. 5
The bodies of Major C. Hamilton Murdoch and Phyllis Boakes were this morning" found decapitated on the railway at Southend, the right hand of the man and the left hand of the woman tied together.
Major Murdock, who was 63 years ot age, was recently at a nursing home where his wife had been living paralysed and unable to walk for eight years. There he met Miss Boakes, a probationer nurse—an attractive girl of twenty-three.
The intimacy between the couple was noticed and Boakes was finally dismissed.
The couple lived together until their money was exhausted and then committed suicide.
