A GREAT DISAPPOINTMENT.
The "Sydney Morning Herald" says —"The disappointment of the Derby was Soltano, who?petered out before the half-mile post was reached, and finished second to last. There is no accounting for his failure.
The "Telegraph ,, declared that "Anything more (disappointing than the display of Soltano can scarcely be recalled. Before going a mile he dropped hopelessly out of the race, and was beaten without a struggle. He ran so badly that it was thought he had broken down, but that fortunately was not the case.
