THE AUCKLAND EXHIBITION.
At a meeting of the Agricultural Committee of the Auckland Exhibition held yesterday morning, attended by Messrs J. M. Phillips (chairman), W. H. Atkin, A. Sturges, Edwin Hall, and Captain Colbeck, the following scale of points for the judging of the district courts was adopted on the recommendation of a sub-committee, headed by Mr Hall: General appearance and artistic arrangement 100, dairy produce (butter 35, cheese 20, eggs 5) 60, fruits (fresh fruits 25, dried fruits and jams 20, pickles and sauces 5) 50, farm produce (wheat 20, oats 15, barley 10, wheat, oats, and barley in sheaf 10, hay, chaff, and ensilage 10) 65, agricultural seeds 20, potatoes and roots 30, wool 40, cured and tanned skfns 10, flax fibre 15, minerals 30, timber 30, sundries not enumerated 50. Total 520. The question of deferring the final judging until well on in the Exhibition season, so that credit might be given for supplementary exhibits, was considered by the committee. The secretary was requested to communicate with the committee of the Southland court, asking particulars of the | dates when it would be convenient [for them to send supplementary exhibits of the coming season's sheafs and grains. The sub-committee was asked to again go into the question of the dates when the various sections of the court should be judged, making due allowance for seasonal conditions.
