CONTRADICTORY STATEMENTS.
LONDON, Oct. 2. An employee of the Great Eastern Company asserts that Herr Diesel boarded the steamer Dresden at Antwerp, but left her on hearing she was not sailing for two and a-half hours. The officials of the Diesel Company, however, re-assert their original story that he was pacing the deck though he was not included in the passenger list. The Board of Trade is investigating the affair, but so far its efforts have been fruitless.
