SPLIT SKIRTS IN VOGUE. SENSATIONAL OCCURRENCES IN AMERICA, t (By Telegraph-Press Assn.-Copyright) NEW YORK, Sept. 7. Split skirts and split trousers are causing great excitement in various cities throughout the States. The latest sensational incident occurred in connection with a wedding at Los Angelos, where a fashionable lady appeared in church wearing an X-ray split skirt. The clergyman objected to her presence but was persuaded to proceed with the ceremony. Subsequently the lady and a man paraded the streets. At Farrel, Pennsylvania, this split clothing fashion almost caused a riot. Hundreds of jeering men followed the wearers and the police had finally to be called out to suppress the disturbance. Fashion experts predict that Turkish trousers will be in general use during the coming season.
