The Savage Club has booked thai Town Hall for the evening of Sep-\ tember 25, when a "ladies' evening' will be held. A good concert programme is being arranged, the Lyric Quartette being brought from Auckland for the occasion. On the following evening the quartette will give a concert-

The hockey season is fast drawing to a close. Next Thursday the final match in the ThuVsday division will be played, when Tamihana will meet United. On Saturday week the winners of the match will play Grahamtown, the winners of the Saturday division, and the victors will play off for the championship with Mangapai, the winners of the Harbour division. Next Saturday the Whangarei "reps" will play a visiting team from Mt Eden.
