LORD MURRAY'S CONCESSIONS
SOLE RIGHTS FOR 40 YEARS
LONDON, Sept.
In connection with Lord Murray of Elibank's visit, to Ecuador on behalf of British oil companies allied to Westman, Pearson and Co., tho text of the concession shows that Lord Murray has secured the right n> utilise any public petroleum lands Oifcovered in Ecuador for the nexr 40 years.
The concession is entirely gratuitous except for the promise to expend £100,000 upon the discovers and exploitation of oilfields within the next decade.
Lord Murray has also secured the right to expropriate private upon terms stipulated by an engineer approved by the Government.
The Guayaquil newspapers describe til-? concession as a monstrou-s one.
