DANGER OF SEARCHLIGHTS.
STEAM COLLIER COLLIDES WITH PIER. MARINERS BLINDED BY FI-ASHING. LONDON, Sept. 5. A -steam collier collided with the Dover pier and was seriously damaged. The collision was due to the harbour authorities flashing powerful searchlights which practically blinded all aboard the collier. Other vessels in the Channel complain of the danger occasioned by searchlights.
