THE JOURNEYINGS OF A MASONIC BIBLE.
The latest sensation in Masonic circles just now is the travelling Bible, winch was started on a trip around the world by Equity Lodge at Chicago in IUO9. It has journeyed through Illinois. Michigan, Ohio and New York as far as Utica. On April 2!. i Oriental Lodge No. 234, of Utica, sent this Bible, in charge of its officers and a delegation of four hundred Masons, to St. George's Lodge, No. G, Schenectady. And later, from there, it was to continue its journey to New York, where it will start, its sea voyage for Europe. At* eacli Lodge where the Bible is received, an elaborate banquet is usually held, sometimes the State Armoury being used to accommodate the necessary hundreds, and speeches are made by noted men on the Book of books. And so the Masons have come to put a new interpretation on the entry, frequently met with in the journals of Wesley and Whitefleld, "The Word ran, and was glorified."
