tBUCKLAND AND SON'S REPORT. » (Special to the "Advocate.") AUCKLAND, Sept. 4. Messrs Buckland and Sons report, at Westfield on Thursday, Aug. 28, dairy cattle were slightly easier while stores of all classes were in strong demand. Best dairy cows £10 to £ 13, others £ 6 to £9, aged and inferior £3 10/ to £5 15/, empty £4 to £5 8/, yearlings £3 3/ to £3 15/, good calves £2 5/ to £2 15/, small £1 5/ to £ 1 15/.

On Wednesday, Sept. 3, there were 366 head of first class beef yarded. In odd cases prices were a shade easier, but generally values were the same as last week. Choice ox to £ 1 13/ per lOOlbs, prime £1 9/ to £1 11/, cows and heifers £1 5/ to £1 9/ per lOOlbs. Steers £8 10/ to £15 15/, cows and heifers £5 to £1 2. The latter prices were obtained for choice heifers fattened by Mr E. W. Beed, of Cambridge. A truck of bullocks from the same vendor averaged £15 3/2. Two trucks of choice bulls from A. Orr, of Mornnsville, averaged £14 9/9. A large number of fat young calves sold freely. Small and fresh dropped were in keen demand. Runners £4 10/ to £5 3/, heavy suckers £3 10/ to £4 8/, choice medium suckers 25/ to 30/, small and fresh dropped 8/ to £ 1 1/, small weedy 3/. 144 sold.

Sheep.—There was a heavy yarding of mutton, the major portion being prime heavy wethers. Competition was steady, prices being on a par with late quotations. Extra heavy prime wethers £1 12/ to £1 13/6, heavy prime £1 8/ to £1 11/. ■ medium to heavy £14/ to *-} \/f> light and unfinished £1 1/ to £1 i/J, best heavy prime ewes il6/ to fci 8/9, good £1 3/ to £1 5/, others 15/ to £1 1/, best hoggets £11/ to £1 2/6, others 16/ to £1. 2559 sold. A consignment of lambs, tne first of the season from, Messrs W. Westney of Mangere and Fred Stephens of Clevedon, brought 17/ to £1 U/3. '

Pigs were short of requirements consecmentlv prices firmed considerably. No choppers or heavy baconers were yarded. Light baconers £3 1/ to £3 19/, large porkers £2 to £o, small £1 16/ to £2 8/, small £1 S/to £1 15/, slips 19/ to £1 5/, weaners to 18/.
