FALL OF A METEORITE.

NEW YORK, Sept. 4

A meteorite fell into the sea near Connet River, Mass., throwing a huge wave high in the air, followed by a thick burst of steam. The noise was heard 20 miles away, houses were shaken and windows smashed. The water is too deep to permit of the meteorite being recovered.
