PRISONER ESCAPES.
INVERCARGILL, Sept. 4
John Blouquist, a prisoner with a long list of convictions against him, escaped from the gaol gang working •on the reclamation works. He made a coat of a grain sack and obtained .a pair of white trousers. This strange rig-out aroused the suspicions of Sergeant Bingham, who re- ,- arrested the prisoner.
