CRIME PENALTIES.
AUCKLAND, Sept. ?,. At the Supi'eme Court to-day prisoners sent up for sentence from the lower court were dealt- with as follows:—William Scholes, forgery and uttering, twelve months' probation; John Fitt, forgery and uttering, two years' probation; John Hanslow, theft from the person, twelve months, and also declared to be an habitual criminal; John Henry Heath, theft at the Thames, one year in addition to his present sentence, and declared to be an habitual criminal Edgar Hodgson, six charges of forgery and uttering and false pretences, two years, and declared to be an habitual criminal.
