POLITICAL SPLIT.

BOTHA AND HERTZOG

CAPETOWN, Aug. 29

At a large meeting of the Dutch South African party at Fordsburg Mr Visser, chairman of General Hertzog's committee, suggested the creation of two branches, one the Dutch, the other English speaking.

Dr Krause, premising that the leader's differences were purely personal, remarked that, although a personal friend of Hertzog, he thought the latter anything but a good party man in refusing to abide by the decisicm of the Congress.

He concluded by declaring that General Botha was entitled to wholohearted support.

The allegation that General Botha was pledged to capitalists and :u league with Unionists was all nonsense.
