SOCIALISTS AND A TEACHER
BERLIN, Aug. 28
Socialistic trade unions at Leobjuen, near Haalle, two days ago organised a fete, including the entertainment of children.
The rector of the local school, however, prohibited the children attending, and those who disobeyed were ordered next day singly into the rector's room, where they were soundly caned.
Their parents assembled in a rage, and thrashed the rector, who had to be rescued by the police and escorted to his residence with drawn swords.
