OVERCOME BY GAS FUMES.
SIX PERSONS PERISH.

NEW YORK, June 4,
Five persons perished frcm gas fumes in a grain well situated in a farmer's dairy in the Fairmont district. The farmer named Sachs was overcome when he entered the well. Two women neighbors and three men attempted to rescue Sachs but were also overcome. A fireman then tried to secure the bo<iies and he was removed to the hospital iD a serious condition.
