AUCKI.AND, Feb. 16
At Westfield, on Thursday, February Sth, dairy cows were in keen demand. Choice, at profit, £10 15s to £14 ss; others, £6 15s to £10 10s; aged and inferior, £3 15s to £6; empty, £2 15s to £4 3s. Only a few stores were yarded.
On Wednesday, February 14th, at V/estfield, the beef penned (395) were in firm demand. Choice ox, £1 6s; ordinary, £1 : a Gd to £i ss; cow and heifer, £1 to £1 3s; steers, £7 5s to £11 17s 6d; cows and heifers, £4 5s to £8 4s.
Sixty-one calves were yarded. Runners, £3 3s T .o £5 Is; choice suckers, £1 16s to £2 lr.s; light ,18s io £1 13s; fresh dropped, 3s to 15s.
Choice heavy wethers, 18s to 19s 6d; heavy, 16s 6d tr. 17s 9d; medium and light, 12s 9d to lGs; choice heavy \oung ewes, I4s to 16s 3d; heavy aged ewes, 11s 9d to Kis; others, 8s 6d to 10s 6d (.14SI sold).
There was a full entry of lambs. Values were easier. Best made 14s to 16s 9d; good, 12s 6d to 13s 9d; unfinished, 6s 6d to 10s (987 sold).
There was a fair supply of pigs, but the yarding was far below requirements. Prices were high. Baconers, £2 15s to £3 16s; large porkers £2 6s to £2 14s; lighter, £1 3s to £2 4s. No stores or weaners penned (107 sola).
