BASS AND CORNET SOLOS

GISBORNE, Feb. 14

Johnstone (Gisborne) won the E. Flat Bass solo competition, with 48 points. Codyre (Wellington) was one point behind for second place. Calkin tied for fourth place, and Parr was fifth. There were ten entrants. The B. Flat Cornet Solo competition resulted —Buckley (Wanganui), 45 points, Ist; Berryman (Palmerston) 43 points, 2nd. Fourteen competed.
