HIKURANGI v. WHANGAREI.

On Saturday afternoon the cricket match, Whangarei v. Hikurangi, was continued on the latter's ground, the home team winning by 19 runs on the first innings. When stumps were drawn on the previous Saturday, Whangarei had compiled a total of 159. to which Hikurangi had replied with 42 for 3 wickets, S. Harris being unbeaten, with a score of 21. On resuming Harris carried his> total to 60 before placing the ball into Smith's hands. Of the remainder, Harding 34, Ward 32, and Kerr 12, were the only batsmen to reach double figures, while the extras accounted for IS.
