Identification by Teeth.
AFTER TWELVE MONTHS'
BURIAL
SOLUTION OF A MYSTERY

Sydney, June 24
An unknown man, buried twelve months ago, was identified to-day by his teeth.
On June 26 of last year, a body was found in Prospect dam with a bullet wound in the forehead. A diary was found in a pocket without a name. Certain entries led to a friend of a man named Cryer, who had been missing for some time, writing to the New Zealand police. After much trouble specimens of Cryer's writing were obtained from his father in London, and proved that the diary belonged to Cryer. The description of the body, however, in no way tallied with that of Cryer. The latter left his home in the Otago district on May 16, and an entry in the diary said: "Leave Wellington 6 p.m." The assump* tion was that Cryer had sailed for Sydney. Cryer's father stated that his son had peculiarly - mended teeth. The body was exhumed, and the teeth described by the father were found, establishing the man's identity.
