KAMO CONCERT.

Tnis concert, in aid of the Morgon Testimonial Fund, was held in the Karao Public Hall, on Wednesday, the sth inst., and may be considered as one of the best concerts held in Kaiuo. Some of the promoters had gone to considerable trouble in preparing scenery for the occasion. Special mention ought to be made of Mr M. Whilelaw, who painted a scene representing a bakery, which was necessary in the last act. " Burnt to a Cinder in a Baker's Oven." The programme was as follows : — Duet, pianoforte, Madam Gade and Miss Pierce; song, "Mother's Wedding King," Mr Albon, which although enchored was not so well rendered as we have heard Mr Albon sing it on a previous occasion ; song, "Ah che la Morte," Miss Pierce. This piece seemed rather difficult for one so young, but with a little training we predict a grand future for this young 2rtist. An enchore was answered with ' Come Birdie Come." Comic song, " Good Evening," by Mr Bessell, brought down the house, who responded with "Duck Foot Sue" with banjo accompaniment; '•British Hornpipe," Mr I Coutts was encored, after which the audience were considerably amused with a bones solo by Mr Joe. Crew ; song, ">o Father, i\o Mother, No Home," by Mr Tucker, in pleasing style ; song, " True Till Death," by Mr Cavr, was very well rendered, an enchore being demanded. This gentleman has a splendid voice, and we ought to hear more of it. Song, " Only a Lock of Hair," by Mr Murphy, was very good ; song, " Kobin Adair, ' Miss Annie McLeod, was very prettily rendered ; song. " A Boy's Best Friend is his Mother," by Mr Whiddon, was very well received ; an " Irish Jig,' by Mr M. Whitelaw, was doubly enchored; song, "White Wings," Mr Donnelly, was very well sung, he having to appear a second time ; son», " Bow, Wow, Big Dog," by Mr Dudley, with banjo accompaniment, kept the audience in titters, aud as an enoliore gave some modulating exercises on the violin, which showed good execution. The finale. " Burnt to a Cinder," was very good, and kept the audience in roars of laughter the whole time three lovers were roasted in a baker's oven, Kitty, the servant, being well personified by Joe. Albon. The exact proceeds are not yet

nnide known, • but. we understand suffi- ; o'ent has boon' r.iisod to carry out tho object intended. A dune?, kept nj> nntjl break of day, brought the entertainmei:' to a close, Messrs Dudley and Bradley supplying the music. . Critic.
