Auckland, Thursday. Jas. Leslie, of Parnell, recently before deceased, left the bulk of his prorjerty for orphanage to be established in Auckland. Tho property thus bequeathed is valued at about £500. Hunter and Nolan held their first wool sale of the season to-day, when satisfactory prices were obtained, competition for the different lots being brisk. 108 bales were disposed f. Wellington, this day. The Minister of Public Works returned from Sydney by Wakatipu this morning. Westport, Wednesday. The strike of coal miners employed at Ngakawa was satisfactorily settled this morning, and the men have gone to work.
