NORTHERN JOCKEY CLUB.
Ox Wednesday tie annual meeting of the above club was held at the Settlers' Hotel, Whangarei. There was a considerable number present ; and after the usual preliminaries, the committee was nominated for the ensuing year, which was a large and representative one, calculated to carry out the club's business with energy. E. Thompson, Esq., M.H.R, was elected President, and P. S. Brown, Esq., VicePresident. Mr Brown was also elected secretary pro tern. This meeting was adjourned until the Ist Wednesday in Sept., to receive the statement of accounts and balance sheet. COMMITTEE MEETING. Immediately after the annual meeting the committee met for businoss, at which it was decided to hold the Summer meeting on Friday and Saturday, the 21st and 22nd of December. This meeting was also idjourned to the Ist Wednesday in September, after the adjourned annual meetin <* at which a programme will be drawn ap° and all arrangements made for carrying out the clubs meetings for the ensuing racing season.
