KAMO LICENSING COMMITTED

On Tuesday the Kamo Licensing Committee held a nieeoing in the Kamo Public Hall. Pescnt:— Messrs F. F. Day (chairman), J. Jackson, and M. Mclnnis. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. CORRESPONDENCE. A letter (legal opinion) was read from Mr Carruth. The Inspector's report on Kamo Hotel was received, to the following effect •— I beg to report that the only licensed house in the Licensing District has been Avell conducted during the three months just ending.— C. Hogg." Mr Chas. Bishop, of Whangarei, made an application for a conditional license for the racecourao at Kamo. The Chairman inoyed, " That a license be granted to Mr U. Bishop, and that the fee charged be £l." Seconded by Mr Mclnnis, and carried. Mr E. Clark, of the Kamo Hotel, made an application for an extension of time from 10 to 11 p.m. Mr Mclnnis moved, " That an extension of time be granted from 10 to 11 p.m., fee 10/." Seconded by the Chairman. Mr Jackson moved as an amendmtnt " That no extension be granted." ' There being no seconder, the amendment fell through. Mr Jackson moved, " That there be a poll taken, iv accordance with clauses 45 and 49 inclusive, on some day during the second week in May next." Seconded by Mr Mclnnis, and carried. ; This being all the business, the chairman thanked the members for their attendai -c and left th« chair.
