MR O'BRIEN IMPRISOND,

' Dublin, January 27. Mr T. O'Bbien, M.P. for Monaghan North, who was arrested on a charge of inciting the people, has been sentenced to four months' imprisonment. Notice of appeal was given. Dublin, January 29.

Disturbing news has been received from Donegal. The peasants, in some villages where evictions are about to take place, threaten to destroy the bridges in order to impede the march of the police. Mr Hayden, editor of the West Meath Advertiser, has been convicted on a charge of inciting, and sentenced to three months' hard labour.

While Mr Balfour, Chief Secretary of Ireland, was out driving, a detective's car came into collision with his carriage, completely wrecking it. Mr Balfour escaped without injury. Mr Wilfred Blunt, since his release from gaol has been under medical treatment for rheumatism, but has now almost recovered.

Mr Cox, M.P., has been sentenced to four months' hard labour.

The charges against Father McFadden and Alex. Blaine, M.P., for making speeches in favour of the plan of campaign at Gweedore have been p&rtly heard and postponed. Stringent precautionary measures were taken against an out break, and 750 military and police were massed at Dunf anaghy, where great excitement prevailed. The military excluded the peasantry from the town during the trial.
