HORRIBLE DISASTER.
Philadelphia, January 11. A tebrible railway disaster occurred near Wyoming, in Luzorne County, Pennsylvania, yesterday. A passenger train, crowded with passengers, was run into by a goods train.
The carriages of the former was smashed to pieces, and the wreckage was fired by the stoves used for warming the compartments.
Most appalling scenes were witnessed. A great many passengers, being unable to extricate themselves from the wreckage, were burned to death.
Nearly all of those who escaped death have received serious injuries.
The scene was so horribje»tkat the conductor of the train loai^iis reason. "*Nutahers of those who ' did get free were frozen to death, the weather "being bitterly cold at the time.
