GYNASIUM CLASS.
A. meeting was held on Wednesday evening, at the Commercial Hotel, with a, view of forming a gymnastic class in Whangarei. The following gentlemen wore present: — Messrs Guflding, Cafler, Williams, Pollock. Morgon, England, Cosson, Nolan, Bell, Buckland, R. Dent, A.. Dent, Hoey, McKay, Pearson (2), Joan, Myers, Clements, Haines, Jenkins, S. Hutchings, Ward, D. Simpson, Dunwoodie, Cartel?, Murphy, J* WQsoii) Boss (2). Mr Ouilding was called to the chair, and explained the objects of the meeting. He also said that he had seen Mr Thompson, and had found out from him, that if formed, the class could have his mart to use as a practice room. He also said he would he glad to -write to Professor Carollo and obtain particulars and estimates as to what plant would be required. Mr Williams moved, and Mr Eyles seconded, "That aggymnasium class be formed in Whangarei." Carried Ita» animously. Mr Williams proposed and Mr England seconded, " That the entrance fee for working members be 10/." Carried unanimously. Mr Williams moved, and Mr Jenkins seconded, "That Messrs Guilding, Williams, Cosson. England, Nolan, S. Dent, and D. Simpson form a committee." Carried unanimously. I The chairman was authorised to write jto Professor Carollo, and obtain cost of necessary plant, etc. Twenty-four gentlemen present put 'their names down as members of the class. Mr Eyles moved and Mr England seconded, "That the subscription for honorary members, be one guinea per annum." Carried. Mr Williams moved and Mr Pollock seconded, " That another meeting be held on Wednesday, the 11th May." Carried. A vote of thanks to the chairman, carried with acclamation, then brought a successful meeting to a close. Anyone wishing to join tho class are requested to give their names in to any member of the committee.
