USE OF DRILLS.

The principal clause in the Mining Amendment introduced in the House of Representatives is that dealing with the use of drills. It is provided that in every case where, in any mine, quartz or other substances arc crushed in a dry state, there shall at all times be used in and about the battery an adequate jet or spray of water, approved suction fan, or other appi _ /ed appliance, to keep the air pure and prevent dust circulating. No rock drills other than axial water-fed rock drills, or other drills approved by t_v? Inspector, shall be used in any r<j_ne after the Ist January, 1021.
