GRATEFUL APPRECIATION (To the Editor). Dear Sir, —The members of the Roxburgh Territorial Platoon wish to take this opportunity of thanking those who so kindly assisted in the arrangements for the splendid final tributes to our deceased comrades to-day. The tragic accident was a severe blow to the platoon, but in gratitude, we felt the blow softened by the public sympathy shown in our home town. Some members of the community could not do enough for us. We are deeply grateful to those who lent their cars, who attended the injured in the Cromwell Hospital, for friendly messages of sympathy, to the local Returned Soldiers Association and to all those who helped in any way we say THANK YOU, from the bottom of our hearts.

To the people of Cromwell, the doctor and nurses for their tireless and most attentive care we are indeed most grateful. LIEUT. A. R. ALEXANDER, Roxburgh Territorial Platoon. October 24th 1937.
