ROXBURGH DEFENCE RIFLE CLUB

o The annual meeting of the above elub was held in the Roxburgh Hall on Wednesday, 20th October, there being a. large number of members present. The election of Officers resulted as follows:—

President. —Mr J. A. McDonald ( rp-ol pntpfl Vice-President.—Mr W. Hiscock (re-elected). Handieapper.:—Mr A. H. H. Webster (re-elected). Secretary.—Mr B. Tubman.

Mr T. Hayes who, as secretary for the Club for a number of years, has given very valuable service did not seek re-election.

Mr H. J. Vernon presented the Championship Belt to Mr J. A. McDonald, also a very handsome miniature cup which Mr Vernon kindly donated to go with the Belt. The White Cup, which was presented to the Club by the late Mr R. F, White, was won by Mr F. Cockburn. The President’s Challenge Cup was won by Mr J. A. McDonald. A large number of ammunition prizes were also presented to various members. With an excellent membership the Club is looking forward to a very successful season. There are a, particularly large number of trophies to be shot for this year together with three cups and the Championship Belt. Visits are to be arranged to the Alexandra, Clyde, and Ettrick clubs in the near future. Any keen shot who would like to join the Club will be welcome.
