Massey College Poultry
REPLY TO CRITICISM OF QUALITY At a meeting of the council of the North Island Poultry, Pigeon and Cagebird Association, held in Palmerston North yesterday, a letter was received from the Manawatu Poultry Club drawing attention to a Press Association message published in certain newspapers on Tuesday giving publicity to statements made by a delegate at the annual conference of the South Island Poultry, Pigeon and Canary Association held recently. These statements adversely criticised the quality of the White Leghorn breeding stock sold by the Poultry Department at Massey College. The Manawatu Club requested that the North Island Poultry Association take necessary action to protect the good reputation of the college. After discussion it was rosolvcd: “That the council desire to express every confidence in the work and the poultry breeding stock of the Poultry Department at Massey College; moreover, that the council intend to make the fullest inquiries from both the delegate and the South Island Poultry Association for permitting such a report to appear in print.
“In support of the work being done at the college, this council desires it known that they regard the Poultry Department at Massey College as the leading pedigree breeding poultry plant in the Dominion.”
