Women’s Softball
The great improvement in fielding in the ■women’s softball games at Hokowhitu Domain last Saturday, saw its results in the small number of home runs obtained. The improvement was even noticeable over the previous Saturday’s standard and the strength of the batting was not even diminished. A former Palmerston North enthusiast, at present residing in Auckland, states that the standard of girls’ softball in the Manawatu district is on a far higher plane than he has seen elsewhere. The results of last Saturday’s games were as follows: Para 17 beat W.A.A.F. 9, Kowhai 29 beat Y.W.C.A. 4, Exclusive 17 beat Hospital 9. Home runs were obtained by V. Sapwell, V. Drury, D. Sheary and E. Davidson. The fixtures for next Saturday are as follow:—2 p.m., Y.W.C.A. v. Para, Hospital v. West End, Kowhai v. W.A.A.F.; 3.15 p.m., W.A.A.F. v. West End and Exclusive v. Kowhai. The game between W.A.AF. and West End is carried over from last Saturday, when it was unable to be played. |. guaranteed catarrh relief OR MONEY BACK.
