Lord Alanbrooke Arrives At Wellington

(Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Nov. 27.

The Chief of the Imperial General Staff, Lord Alanbrooke, arrived at Wellington this evening in the course of a swift world tour. He leaves Wellington by motorcar for Taihape tomorrow afternoon on his way to Rotorua, being accompanied by the General Officer Commanding New Zealand forces, Lieutenant-General Puttick. Lord Alanbrooke arrived at Ohakea at 2.30 p.m. by plane from Australia. He was met ou arrival by representatives of the Government, LieutenantGeneral Puttick and tho High Commissioner for the United Kingdom (Sir Patrick Duff). He came on to Wellington by car, arriving shortly before 6 p.m. Official business will occupy tomorrow morning, and Lord Alanbrooke, together with Vice-Admiral Sir Philip Vian, will be tho guest of the Government at a luncheon at Parliament House before leaving for the north. He is due in Auckland on December 1 and will leave by air for Australia the same day.
