Hokowhitu School
At the meeting of the committee on Monday, Mr. A. W. Green presided over a full attendance. The headmaster, Mr. A. G. Lancaster, reported that the materials had been purchased for tennis and cricket requirements, and that the City Council had arranged rolling of the cricket pitch. It is hoped to have the grass at the rear of the school cut within the next week. The film projector purchased by the Home and School Association has been ordered and should arrive before the end of the school year. The baths committee reported that the painting of the baths had been completed, and a supply of forms was being purchased. Swimmers were being encouraged to join the newly formed swimming club, and could outain concessions by means of season tickets. The Wanganui Education Board advised of the appointmet of an assistant master. The chairman lias made arrangements for the children of families resident in the transit camp to attend Hokowhitu School and a -welcome is assured those children.
