(From Our Own Correspondent.) The calf club judging was held in good weather on Monday afternoon when 33 animals were presented. There were also four lambs. There was an attendance of 50 or more adults who were afterwards entertained at afternoon tea. Besides the judge, Mr. I. W. Mudford, Education Board member, was present Miss Freeth and Mrs. Frith helped by senior girls, had charge of the afternoon tea. Mr. Eagle, chairman of the committee, expressed satisfaction at so many parents taking an interest in the event. Besides the results already published, the following local competitions were held: Eagle Cup, for most points in dairy type, care and attention and yearling: Janet Uxonham and Nancy Berkahn, equal 1. G. L. Romley cup for heifer and mat-'-e cow: Brian Eagle. Pet lambs: Nancy Berkahn ’s “Dinah” 1, Paul Archer’s “Victor” 2, Ivan Kenaghan’s “Pet” 3.

Mrs. A. Cater is spending a holiday with relatives in Hastings. Mrs. Wilson of Has rings, has been visiting Mrs. D. Cresswell, Te Matai Road. Mrs. W. Lacey is staying in Auckland.

Spence and Miss L. Christiansen and the Lucky Gay Gordons by Mr. W. Spence and Mr. 'Engle’s partner. A competition was won by Mr. W. Williams. Supper was in the hands of the committee and music was supplied by a professional orchestra. There was a good attendance at the opening of the Whakarongo Tennis Club held on the afternoon of Saturday, October 27, and judging by the number of players, a good season is anticipated. A Yankee tournament was run by tho president, Miss C. Vautier, the winners being Mrs. G. Frith and Mr. D. Clark.
