Petrol to Burn
People in New Zealand who have been bothered by petrol restrictions may be interested to know that when the Second New Zealand Division was mobile and in action it consumed 75,000 gallons of petrol for every 100 miles it covered. Even when the Division was static, i.e., out of the line and resting, it consumed 15,000 gallons of petrol a week. It would bo enlightening if historians were able to show how much of' this vast quantity of benzine went up in smoke per means of the precious “Benghazi burners,” or the more extravagant petrol-and-eand fires.— A.S.C.
