Chinese Communists After Japanese Arms
Received Tuesday 11.50 p.m. CHUNGKING, August 13.
The Ministry of Information spokesman said an order given by the Chinese Communist Commander-in-Chief, General Chu Teh, to the Communist forces to disarm Japanese and puppet groups and seize their arms was unauthorised and illegal. He added that the Government would hold the Japanese Command strictly accountable for any arms the Japanese or puppets may surrender to any other than officers and men authorised by the Government and to the Russians.
